has anyone heard these CDs, would you recommend them?

the trotter trio has done:
"follies in jazz"
"company in jazz"
"passion"
"sweeney"
"a little night music"
"forum in jazz"

from what little snippets ive heard off of amazon, they sound great because they are all instrumental - and it really points up how good of a composer sondheim is.

any advice would be appreciated.

Don't f*ck with me fellas. This ain't my first time at the rodeo.

I highly recommend all of them.

Passion is a particular favorite.

You might be interested in the earlier thread where there was some discussion of these recordings with the producer Bruce Kimmel.

I just used the search function and saw this old posting, but it's totally what I was about to write.

Does anyone have any of the Trotter Trio CDs, are they good?

I'm particularly fond of the Sweeney Todd CD. They do some wonderful things with those melodies. GREAT background music for a cocktail party or a smaller gathering. People (okay, at least MY crowd) always ask, "Is that what I think it is? I love it! Where did you GET that?"

I also really like the Company and Follies CDs, even if they aren't quite as succesful as the Sweeney CD.

But I would recommend all of them.
