Neither does U2, and they have never claimed to. I don't like U2, but any news or ads are completely avoidable if you avoid them. Rolling Stone promotes thousands of things. And no, they don't need to go away. Millions of people love them, support them, and will always do so.

I am in awe of the hyperventilating over U2's new record.

It's awful, insignificant and a joke. And if you don't believe me, ask Sound Opinions. I don't think even Madonna would do something as unctuous as the stunt they pulled with Apple. Bono's Messiah complex was frankly tiresome even with The Joshua Tree and it's resurgence here is just forehead-slappingly tone-deaf.

A hell hole like Times Square is honestly the best place for them.
