Yes, and that's simply my opinion. Nothing more.

100% agree. The two leading men have had much better attendance than Lea this entire run.

NYTimes Tony Award Predictions Jun 5 2026, 02:07:10 PM
I would actually argue ballroom culture is not just specifically happening in NYC, don't get me wrong it was the birthplace of the scene but there are many active ballroom scenes thriving in other major US cities: Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New Orleans Atlanta etc.
And that's fine, you have vigorously defended Cats for months now and quoting me many times. But the average tourist knows nothing about an underground ball culture nor do they

2026 Post-Tony Closures and Successors Jun 5 2026, 01:59:53 PM
Yes, J and I have talked about his doom/gloom stuff in pms. He has minimized it a great deal after the "BROADWAY IS NEVER OPENING AGAIN AFTER COVID" thing, but if he's just getting these rumors from someone as awful as that TikTok person, it doesn't matter.

I can say with certainty that Sabrina Carpenter is NOT attached to the revival of 42nd Street. The production is happening, but she has no involvement."
Can confirm. I don't know where OP J is getting these rumors but they better not be from a loser on TikTok who has zero credibility ;)

I think the answer is no, NY ball culture is something barely anybody knows a thing about outside of NYC. The only good think Ryan Murphy has ever done is create Pose (first season only) to give many folks an education lesson on ball culture and how integral it was for so many black and brown folks. But, Pose wasn't popular though and anytime I ask people outside of the tri-state area about "ball culture", they have never known what I was talking about.

Something being “original” doesn’t mean it’s inherently better.
To me is does, actually.

Lolz. You never had any to begin with with your embarrassing threads. You do nothing but complain and try to control people. Looking forward to another useless thread complaining about people flying in planes and Beyonce soon. Enjoy being a keyboard warrior and nothing else in life. Shoo Shoo!

Theatrefan2 said: "I dont think Cats has come off that well on TV appearances so far, so I think the Tony performance would really need to be special.
The problem Cats has is it's a show already a lot of people hate. Those that do love it possibly won't be into this new concept which isn't close to the show they love. And the new concept is quite niche and likely won't attractpeople back who have hated the show in the past."
Exactly. I watc

She doesn't matter to them is what I'm saying. I do have a clue enough to know that telling people what to do with their own money and bitching about Rowling has no impact on anything. You keep making these threads for no reason, so perhaps it's best you go out and protest the play (pick a country) or go right up to HBO headquarters and yell at them.
Do something besides sitting on your phone and complaining, then maybe people will respect you on this issue. Have a pleasant afternoon!

Thank you for that, and yes it's the only fully original show, making it even more special.
I can't believe that Schmigadoon would even have a chance at winning honestly because you are spot on with the description: "it looks like AI slop of all existing musicals that we've seen hundred times". I've never left quicker from anything in my life, it was embarrassing and their merch sucks.

The continued success of this franchise (from which she continues to profit) tells trans people they don't matter. She gloats about her bank balance and takes it as validation of her views.
Then stop reading news about her. Don't support her. Support your trans friend. And STOP telling people what to do with their own money, it's beyond embarrassing for you to think you can control what other people do, what they enjoy watching/reading/experiencing. And you can tru

They deserve to perform considering the best part of Chess is the score. Thanks for the info!

Also re the 7 minute opening, Bryce is doing a take over of The Wing IG account today and teased a secret involvement at the Tony awards where he had a rehearsal today and I saw one ensemble member post a pic on their IG stories outside Radio City today so we may get a tiny bit of Chess."
I love everything about that. I love Bryce and his character in Chess, and I love that they've featured his songs on a few talk shows. Such an excellent performer.

^ That's simply not true. There is huge interest and it's already been renewed for season 2. Every season only has 8 episodes though, so it's not a huge commitment. I guess they want to start an entire new generation of fans. Ive never read or watched any of those Child Wizard books, but I imagine they have to be quite good since this story has been relevant for 30 years.
Don't support her, JayZ. Simple. Don't judge the people who do as they are free to spend t

Honestly, Two Strangers was the best musical of the season for me. Smart, sweet, charming as hell, and I loved the score. They like to reward small shows often with that prize, so I hope it goes to them. Very, very special show.

That's f*cking beautiful but you know that mf will have them take it down at 11:59pm on June 12th, because taking it down in the middle of the night when no one is looking is what a Cowardly Mango Bitch would demand be done.
Small wins are still wins, tho!

Reimagined THE FANTASTICKS will open on Broadway this fall Jun 4 2026, 01:39:01 PM
The original production spent $900 on sets and $542 on costumes in 1960 and it ran in a little off-Broadway theater for 42 years. It’s the world’s longest running musical, and the longest running continuous show of any kind in the United States, which is pretty cool. It's a bit outdated, but I'm looking forward to their fresh take.
