Moulin Rouge to Close on Broadway

Jul 23, 2026 — 11:57:04 AM

Haha, right? As others and I predicted months ago, Aaron is Christian. Again. For the 6th? 7th time? Seriously though, he's been involved with this show for nearly a decade, so it's very fitting. I am glad they are closing the show with the current Christian because Christian is fantastic and deserves that honor.

‘Cats’ Closing: Is It Curtains for Broadway Musicals?

Jul 22, 2026 — 3:11:02 PM

A niche concept revival of a show that already divides people (compounded by a notorious flop movie) isn't really the one to lead with. It was always going to face an uphill battle. The lack of that simple fact is truly lost on the people obsessed with that show.

My friend said the choreography was really good and that Frost totally embodied the character. She had seen him in MJ and was hoping she wouldn't see "shades" of that performance. She said she was pleasantly surprised to not even think about him as MJ. She was also impressed with how he executed Glover's choreography. Such incredibly talented men, it was a great production. I hope they bring it to New York, not necessarily Broadway though.

So, showing us the same clip posted 2 days ago doesn't mean it's generating buzz. It got positive notices at Berkeley (Just like Almost Famous) but that clearly doesn't mean much when it comes here. I look forward to how they are going to generate excitement for this production and I hope they've improved the score.

Um, no you didn't. You updated it just a few minutes ago with the actual title in it. What a weird thing to say. Since only one of those people could actually sing that score, that won't ever happen. Have you been to the show? Anyway, a pro-shot would be wonderful to forever capture how far they've come with the show since the Kiln. I'm not holding my breath, the cast recording is more than enough but I can still wish for it :)

Melissa25 said: "As a native New Yorker kid who would ride the various subway lines to the last stop for adventure, I love the key art. I spent countless hours pouring over that 1972 Vignelli subway map. It is a work of art."It really is, Melissa. I hope they make a window card of it, I have a feeling Warriors merch is going to be plentiful considering Lin's enormous website of anything you could ever think of to own is there.

Re: Next for the Majestic

Yes, Purple Rain was a mess at the State Theatre, and their website is obviously still aiming for Broadway, but I just don't see it coming considering the costs involved and how completely disjointed it was last year. Same thing with Dolly, which I don't think will be successful for the same reason and additionally opens in...January.

Buzz has nothing to do with when the show starts. It has to due with the excited anticipation of audiences and fans. Example: The Spring Awakening revival or Paddington. This title and names behind it don't incite excitement. Again, that's not to say the show won't be good. It just means the show is a hill ahead of it to earn its audience.Exactly. The Lost Boys started marketing their show 7 months before it even started. The buzz and excitement for that show was huge and it's doing really we...

I love it too J, it's so funny people who haven't seen the movie or read the novel and clearly know nothing about it complaining about subway tokens. They don't even know what century it takes place in apparently? The key art and album are fantastic, and I have no doubt the show will be too considering the talent involved including some recent casting that is incredibly exciting.

Re: P!nk and her daughter are doing Next to Normal

Jul 20, 2026 — 8:15:46 PM

I know Pink mentioned their family moved to New York so her daughter could study theater and experience more Broadway shows, but since Pink is not an actress, I doubt this is true. They both have great voices but that's not enough for this material.

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY out of town - anyone been to the Colonial?

Jul 20, 2026 — 6:19:48 PM

The leg room is pretty rough at the Colonial, and for this show in particular, I would stay as centered as possible if you are able. Lovely old theater. This doesn't seem to be selling well on Broadway, I think they should have started later in the year, rather than Mid-August.

Who wants these alerts? Anyone? It serves no purpose and I don't need an alert if someone liked my post. If you're trying to replicate FB, you're like 20 years too late. It's just too busy and cramped. The quick reply is nice tho, thank you!

Re: An Open Letter To Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber

I also think the "This was our show--not yours. Now fund a recording" approach is about the worst method that could have possibly been taken in trying to sway himYeah, it's a terrible approach and it's also one of the reasons the show failed. ALW lives in a literal castle, he can fund it without blinking but doesn't want to for some reason. However, the concept album of Bad Cinderella (his worst show imo) was produced along with a few singles from the sad Broadway run so you never know.
