Up-tempo Alto songs

I'm looking for an up-tempo song in the alto range. I need something that is character appropriate for a twenty year old female. Does anyone have suggestions?

Check out the Anthologies for Musical Theatre-there are ones for every range. If you must come up qith something quickly, remember that"Winifred" in "Once Upon ..." was orignally written for an alto voice.

stonewall2 - you mean "Swamps of Home" from OUAM? I think thats what its called, but I'm not sure. At any rate, its a great song.

Do Alto's Lament by Heisler and Goldrich. It's a cabaret song but the funniest thing I have ever heard. If you e-mail them they'll probably send it to you. They sent it to my friend last year.

hey, also looking for an uptempo alto, what does anyone thing of "A little Brains a little talent" from damn yankees? is it overdone? if you guys don't think so I'm telling my voice teacher that this is my new song

I like "Anything Goes"- it's a classic and it's fun to sing. Not too hard, either.
