I've never seen it before and I'm planning on going to see it at the college I will be attending this fall for music theatre. Is it a good play? Whats it about? :)

I don't mean to sound rude... but it annoys me that you started a board about this instead of googling it.

The full play synopsis is available at about 1,000,000 websites and it would take five second to type u-r-i-n-e-t-o-w-n into a search engine.

but on that note: I adore Urinetown

I don't mean to sound rude...but you spelled mean, "mena"; instead, "isntead"; and used the singular form of second when it should have been plural (thus, seconds) and then refered to this "thread" as a board.

umm these message boards are for whatever... so yes.

go see it (you can tell alot about colleges by the shows)

run freedom, run is one of the best songs in all of musical theatre, in my oppinion...

Personally, I didn't like it that much. Everyone's got different tastes, though, so you might enjoy it (most people I know do).

^^^ I agree. I just saw a production of it at my school. I knew what the show was about and loved the music so I went into it expecting to love the show as well. Granted... the quality of the production wasn't very good at all and it wasn't exactly the most talented cast in the world so that may have had something to do with it.

I saw a local production last month, and it was VERY good. So funny, and lots or catchy songs.

It makes perfect sense that someone who uses the name of a CATS character for their screenname would dislike URINETOWN.
