Another Republican declares that gay men and women are not citizens of the United States of America, and are not given equal protection under the law.
Nice to have it spelled out clearly. Evidently our President, based on his lack of support for marriage equality for gay men and women, would agree with him.

The AG's argument is baseless. Here's the text of the relevant part of the amendment:
"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

State universities are not free to create any specially protected classes other than those dictated by the General Assembly,” he also said.
Who said anything about SPECIALLY protected classes? The goal is EQUAL protection.

I live in Virginia. Our AG is a complete moron.
