This months issue of Vanity Fair with Tom Ford on the cover is a must have. Great article on Bette Davis. Great article on the making of the film Reds with Warren Beatty. Stunning pictures of Jake, Reese, Juoaquin, Dakota.. etc......
I have not put it down. And Tom Ford is so gorgeous.
If anyone else already has it.. I would love a discussion.
Give me the weekend to buy it and we'll chat next week...
If I can find time to go pick it up before Saturday (and I hope I can!) it'll make great in-flight reading material.
First though, I have to take care of that little thing called 'packing'...
You got it hon.
Well I hate the front cover, but I did enjoy the majority of the portfolio. The stuff about myspace was interesting, I haven't really read the rest of it yet.
I LOV ED THE COVER. LOVED IT.

I like the cover, I think it's pretty damn beautiful.
But how can it not be when its got Scarlet and Keira? So, so gorgeous.

DAME - only you would look at that cover and say, "Oh look, it's Tom Ford."
I'm not a fan of having Tom Ford on the cover (doesn't he look like Jon Favreau?!) but Keira and Scarlett look, obviously, stunning.

Ya think? They look kind of pale and awkward to me. Maybe it's the black background.
Scarlett looks really pale, but I think it suits her - gives her that classic, portrait-type looking. Keira looks pretty tanned though.
I don't think it's the best picture of Scarlett. And I'm not a huge fan of Tom Ford on the cover, either; I wish Rachel McAdams hadn't backed out!
Scarlett's legs look sort of stunted but I think her face looks beautiful...as usual. The panel on "America's Next Top Model" would have some things to say about it.
You mean you did not know who Tom Ford was?
Who, me? Of course I know who Tom Ford is. I haven't read the article though, so I'm wondering why there's a spread on "Tom Ford's Hollywood" instead of the usual annual "Young Hollywood" issue. Especially since Scarlett shills for Calvin Klein - what does Tom have to do with anything??
Because Tom Ford was the guesteditor for the magazine and when it came time to shoot the cover the third un named actress that was suppose to do the shoot flaked. They tried some pic with just the two ladies but they said the pics were boring.. so he joined the shoot for a few.
Dame, I already named the third actress in this thread so she's not really unnamed.
I was told it wasn't Rachel McAdams.. as reported earlier.
Ah, I didn't realize he was guest editor. That makes sense then. Was it really not Rachel McAdams who backed out? That seems to be the wide-spread rumor.
Oh, really? I've heard nothing contrary to the statement that it was McAdams. I thought that was confirmed and that Ford discussed it on Good Morning America. Maybe I'm wrong, though. Either way, I think Ford's presence is odd (even though I realize he was a guest editor when the cover was shooting). Updated On: 2/16/06 at 11:50 PM
I caught an interview on Access Hollywood or The Insider or one of those shows and Tom Ford said it was McAdams. He was nice about it. He said something like she thought she wouldn't have a problem with it, and then she got there and realized that she did, and that was that.
It was his decision to step in instead of getting another actress too, wasn't it?
I think he said someone suggested that he step in, but I guess there wasn't time to get another girl anyway.

McAdams is by far the prettiest of the three, but I doubt the photo would have been much more flattering for her.
Speaking of unflattering photos, did you see the shot of Sienna Miller? Topless in heels with a cigarette in her hand, and she still somehow looks like a teenage boy.
I enjoyed the Reds article...so happy to see this is finally coming out on DVD (even if November seems an eternity away).
The Grace Metalious/Peyton Place piece is interesting. If you haven’t already read the biography by Emily Toth the author references in the article, it’s a great read.
