I thought I'd share this with you all even though there will probably be someone posting in this thread sarcastic remarks about me making alot of Dark Knight related threads, but I thought I'd share this with you anyway.
I was just reading this article from Variety that talked about Dark Knight and that Nolan has made the movie alot darker than Begins and possible made it the darkest Batman movie yet. I wanted to post this to kinda give caution to any parents of young children that maybe on this board that might be taking their children to see this movie because the children maybe fans of Batman, but I just want to say that this isn't Adam West's Batman or Joel Schumacher's Batman, this is Batman as he truly is portrayed in the comics since he was created(except for a time during the late 40s to the mid 60s when he became campy).
Batman has never been a family friendly or a child friendly character. Batman has always been a dark, brooding vigilante with an equally dark and sinister rogues gallery. The only time the character has been child friendly is with the Adam West TV show, the Schumacher movies, and the animated series, The Batman, and Dark Knight is definetly darker and it's not going to be child friendly at all. Some of the things from the movie that lead me to believe that are The Joker's appearance(his smile was cut into his face), Two-Face's appearance(based on the leaked concept art it's not going to be pretty), somewhere in the movie, Joker performs a magic trick for the different mobsters of Gotham making a pencil disappear and then reappear in one of their heads, and so on.
So, take a look at the article which can be found here:http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117988395.html?categoryId=1350&cs=1&no_cj_c=0
I'd take producer Chuck Roven's word for it when he said that he would recommend this film for anyone under 10.

There's another Batman movie coming out? Clooney or Keaton?

You're both wrong! It's Kilmer.
No! It's Heath Ledger! His final performance.

"this is Batman as he truly is portrayed in the comics since he was created(except for a time during the late 40s to the mid 60s when he became campy)."
So he's "Dark"--except for those 20 years of comic books. And in the TV show. And the Cartoon. And the toys. And all those movies. And the McDonald's cups. Ah, I'm glad that he's back to the way that .0000000000000000000000000004% of the fans know him.
this thread makes harley cry.
Can't you PLEASE put these updates in an "All Things Dark Knight Thread". If 50 million Lupone fans can manage to keep their love in one thread on a Broadway site, I'd imagine you could too.
I'm as excited as anyone about this movie as I've been a huge fan of Batman for years - but come on!
you're the kind of person he was talking about, patsy! hater!!
...and proud of it.
I have no problem with someone making 3000 posts about Batman. I just think that they would be better served in a "one-stop, Dark Knight shop" kind of thread where thread of other topics don't get knocked off the main page.

NO! Clay Aiken would be awesome as "The Scoutmaster' the evil, effeminate villain played by Paul Lynde who's henchmen dressed in boy scout uniforms!

That's why I like Batman. He's just as insane as his villains.
if anyone wants to see the leaked twoface photo, you can see it here:

also, if anyone is interested, if you buy a batman shirt from hottopic.com you get a free ticket
I hear this movie is so dark you can't even see the screen.
The first post probably should have contained a spoiler warning...
