I bloody love the fact you are thinking of this. I've never had the privelige of seeing her work, I only know of her reputation, which kind of goes with people rolling their eyes. I figure she belongs in the same bag as Sonia Henie.

Ralston married Herbert R. Yates, head of Republic studios, so she didn't do too badly for herself.

Henie did even better. She was one of the top box office stars if the late 1930s and had a top-secret contract that included percentage points (commonplace now, but uncommon in the heydey of The Studios). And Sonia was rather good in SUN VALLEY SERANADE. She died a very wealthy woman.
