I certainly hope so because I've had my Droid for less than a month. I would be not pleased if they changed it now.
Was the grandfathering for AT&T for the length of the contract or as long as you're a customer? My current contract is up in 2012. Say they do grandfather me...would I have to switch to the limited in 2012 or would I be able to stay unlimited since that's what I signed up for?

Grandfathered to me, means until you sign your next contract. Why would you be grandfathered on what would essentially be a "new" contract in 2012?
I've had my Droid Incredible less than two weeks, and if this is true and I'm not grandfathered, the way I figure it, they've voided the contract I just signed.

I had read about this before I got my Droid X and as long as you are tied to a contract the answer is yes. And it doesn't matter which carrier you go to.. they are all going to be doing it.

Of course I assume that is if I keep renewing the 3G data plan, which by 2012 will probably be obsolete, or close to it.
