If this has been discussed before, please forgive me. I'm new here.
So: Just returned from what will hopefully be my last trip to Times Square's Virgin MegaStore. If the wandering tourists, the clueless, uncaring staff and the not-so-sale "sale prices" aren't enough to send you running, how about the deafening "music" and the little price stickers that conveniently cover half the track listings on virtually every CD. And on the weay out you can always support someone's "basketball team" by buying non-charity labeled M & M's. I always have preferred Tower, but when I'm in Times Square, I often stop at Virgin and inevitably leave with a headache, no merchandise, and vowing never to return.
Am I alone?
Thanks for letting me vent.
Honey, *WHY* on earth are you in Times Square? THERE'S your problem! :-P

I gave up on them a long time ago. Back when they shoved all the DVDs into the room that was reserved for Classical Music.
You are not alone. I live in Hells Kitchen and won't go to that Virgin, no matter how close to home it is. You really hit the nail on the head.
I always venture to the Tower by Lincoln Center but I was there last Saturday night and I heard a sales guy say "F*ck" about five times when I was there...and he was in the children's dvd section. Kinda p*ssed me off.
Ok, thanks for letting ME vent.
I usually go to the Tower right by Lincoln Center, because it's in my neighborhood, but I occasionally pop into Virgin.

*wipes away a wistful tear* Used to be my neighborhood, too...now I'm in Brooklyn exile. *sigh*
Easy for you to say, you still live there :-P Actually, I'm moving back when my lease is up this summer. If not back to Lincoln Square, then somewhere in Midtown West. I'm looking at apartments in Cityspire, Central Park Place, the Metropolitan Tower, the Sonata, the Concerto, and (provided a miracle occurs and a 1-br under 4K/mo opens up) 3 Lincoln Center Plaza.
We'll all have to get coffee at Cafe Mozart! :)
Good for you! Midtown West is a great neighborhood.

Wow, what type of work do you do?
I have sold my musical soul to El Hombre and am a real estate agent.

"a real estate agent"
Wow, I'm changing jobs.
It's astonishing how much money you can make. I'm still trying to grasp the concept of not rounding out 2005 a pauper. I won't have to *make* my Christmas gifts this year!
