my, my Plum...something else we agree on.
It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story... AGATHA CHRISTIE, Life magazine, May 14, 1956

I kind of like Virgin. They have a decent collection of musicals, it's a good place to kill time in the theatre district, and their Taboo CD signing was lots of fun. re: Virgin in Times Square R.I.P. ?

That'd be too bad if it went under.

I was at the Times Square store yesterday and it looked alright to me...

They are constantly moving sections and cd's, which could explain why racks are empty. In the last three months, the Singles section has been in three different places, as have the Broadway Recordings.
They always have promotions going on...

True, they are overpriced. If you need something new, go to Best Buy or Circuit City. Anything else, look it up on Amazon...it's SO much cheaper! (And you don't have to pay 4 bucks for round trip transportation)

OMG Dame. I hear ya there. I used to go to the Double Tree, but that got nixed after 9/11 when they started checking room keys upon entering the hotel. Now, Virgin is definitely the place to go. It's worlds better than the TS Info. pit.

To DAME

The mens bathroom has gone to pot. Doing @ # 1 is OK but hold it in if you have to do a # 2. So far, the worst urinals in Times Square go to Howard Johnsons. You used to be able to use the pissers in the Marriott Marquis until management got wise & now only opens them 1 hour before a show & closes them 1 hour after.

Another good place is the visitors & convention bureau in the little converted movie theater next to the Palace

Ya'll should use the bathrooms in Toys R Us. They are much cleaner.

When I read the title of this thread I thought it was about the sudden demise of Corine2, but I guess I was wrong.

RobbO- a Starbucks every half-block isn't enough for you? :)

Not that I mind- they usually have a clean and spacious bathroom.

GOD FORBID

My husband heard a rumor that there were talks of putting a WALMART in Times Square..if that is what will be replacing Virgin I will cry

Wal-Mart? What the heck? Tourists come to Times Square from Wal-Mart country; they don't need another one sitting there waiting for them.

GOD FORBID

Good lord!!! My jaw drops at the notion of a Wal-Mart in Times Square. Sure, every now and then the suburbanite in me wishes there was a Wal-Mart around to pick up the occasional odds and ends at a cheap price, but really, I'd rather just suck it up and dole out the extra cash.

*smiles at "Wal-Mart country"*

Dollypop, put on your glasses. It says VIRGIN in Times Square.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

That really was amazing, DollyPop. One would never know you were a Christian. You hide it so well.

that's the selected christian variety - they only see/hear/believe what they want and often do not practice what they (or the church) preaches.
