I have a vocal audition at the end of the week and I was wondering if any of you have tips to keep my voice in great shape until then. Anything to avoid or use?

Thanks in advance!

Drink lots and lots and lots of water and stay away from chocolate. Practice warming up everyday for 15 minutes or so and then practice your piece. Don't go overboard with practicing and don't scream.

Stay away from dairy food!!! I learned this the hard way. It creates all this weird stuff in you singing area. If it's a belty piece hold back a little don't sing it fully every time you rehearse.

I have NEVER met Cheyenne Jackson. I have never hung out with him in his dressing room, he did not tweet me, he never bought me a beverage, and he mostly certainly didn't tickle me. . .that is all.

One word: WATER!!!!

You should be peeing crystal clear every 10 minitues.

Drink, drink and drink!

This site has some tips for singers, and for vocal care, in general:

WATERRRRRRR!!!!

Ditto what Broadwayboy said about the peepee. It's true. It's the only thing proven to actually help your voice, because it is hydrating your vocal cords. And make sure it is room temperature, NOT COLD!

Avoid acidy things like citrus, dairy products (they create phlegm), and caffeine (dehydrates your vocal cords).

Avoid excessive talking and do NOT scream for any reason.
