re: re: re: voice parts

I'm a soprano, but I love to belt! I mostly sing in a belt mix, but I've been getting back into my head for the show I'm in now. It's interesting. I sing "Wicked" and "Aida" all day, and "I Could Have Danced All Night" well, all night!

i am a bass/baritone (which means i'm a baritone with a sucky range). tenors can bite me. why not just get a woman to sing the part? they'd do it alot better, that's for sure. and why the hell can't a baritone get a lead once in a while? everyone's tired of jockstrapped love interests with no body hair.

voice parts

I kinda lucked out in the voice department. Back when I was taking voice lessons, I was told my voice was almost a true 4 octave--high end bass to bottom of high soprano.

I was well pleased with my voice at the time. I didn't really want to be the only girl singing base and I hate it when someone with a high, high voice sounds like they are screeching. Of course, that was a long time ago and my voice is hopelessly out of practice.

I only sing in the shower and the car mostly now days but I get a pleasant surprise every once in awhile.

Soprano barely...I prefer singing alto/belting anyway.

innocentchoirboy -- I feel your pain! Tenors get all the good leads. Damn them.

jrb, oh yeah, if only i could be closer to elaine stritch (now which one of these is the sarcasm key?), but the closest i ever got was being stuck between her and zoe caldwell at the buffet table a few years back.

and tommyboy, i'm much younger than you imagine, but i smoked chesterfields as i found in high school that people were much less likely to bum smokes off you when your cigarettes had no filters. that and it just felt infinitely cooler to ask for a pack of chesterfield kings than any other brand save perhaps for lucky's.

Mezzo-Soprano, but I can belt like nobody else I know. I pretty much sing every second of my life. I'm an extremely big freak!

papa~ My dearly departed papa drank Old Bushmill and smoked camals while he sang " Irish Eyes" and "Rich Man" from Fiddler. Quite well, I might add. God I miss that man!

Sing? When I sing, the dogs in Philly nod their heads. Baritones melt me.(love Ray McLeod's voice). You can keep the schreeching sopranos...give me a sultry alto- mezzo and I'm all ears. (love Debbie Gravitte). I'm partial to male voices. Not too many females I can listen to for more than 30 mins.
