I just re-watched this indie gem and it is even more endearing and affecting on DVD...definitely worth buying.
I just love this movie so much. It was probably my favorite movie of 2007 although it wasn't the best. I just loved every second of it and found it to be almost flawless. It should be the model for any future chick-flick/rom-com's. It's sweet and romantic and funny but also incredibly touching and moving. Keri Russell deserved an Oscar nod, I thought it should have been nominated for Best Picture, and its spectacularly written screenplay should have won this year's Oscar. I just love, love, love this movie and I hope other people feel the same. It's such a joyous experience in every light and is the perfect definition of a feel-good movie...even though it's more of a feel-GREAT movie.
Anyone else love WAITRESS and wish that Shelly was still around to make more fantastic films like this? She was a filmmaker who definitely would have left her mark on movie-making, I think.
I actually just saw it for the first time this weekend. I was really impressed. My mom found it slow in places when she watched it, but I thought it was great.
I like it a lot, I have to say it has some flaws and drags a little at the end, but it is better then most films released today
I haven't seen the video, but I did see it in the theater when it was out---one of the few on the big screen I actually made a point of seeing!
I actually saw it in December last year. I think I'll watch it again.
I thought it was pretty good, but a little cheesy at times. I found out about the whole Adrienne Shelley thing right after I saw it, and that really brought me down about it. I haven't been able to watch it since.
I really didn't like it, but I'm willing to give it another go, because everyone else seems to agree that it's such a great movie.
I loved WAITRESS.
It's become my favorite movie of all time.

I thought it was OK but sort of an updated "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore."
