It's airing now in an abominable, faded pan and scan print that has the words "polack" and "spic" edited out by lowering the volume. If you want to experience how a theatrical widescreen film was presented on television in the past then watch WEST SIDE STORY on THISTV. It airs again on Thursday.

I watched West Side Story the other night. It is a great film although largely forgotten.

Maybe on the planet you live on but here on Earth WEST SIDE STORY is a highly regarded classic of American cinema and the recipient of 10 Academy Awards including Best Picture of 1961.

Three years ago there were many celebrations held to mark it's 50th anniversary.

It has never been forgotten, sir.
