Your performance was so bad that it has shaken my faith in the Jewish people.

My jaw dropped when I saw his name in the closing credits. He was great. I believe this is the first movie with Jacks Black and White.
John C. Reilly was tackled to star in the proposed GUYS & DOLLS revival that was to open this season on Broadway, that fell apart due to the upcoming SAG strike. But perhaps once the strike goes into effect and the GUYS & DOLLS producers find a theatre, we may see him grace the boards in a Broadway musical.

If he had to be tackled, maybe he's just not that into it.

That is a good point Namo. I'm surprised Black wasn't in COFFEE AND CIGARETTES so that Jim Jarmusch could have snapped up that title.

I think one of the reasons that it was bombing at the box office besides opening on the same weekend as National Treasure was that even though he's a great actor and singer, alot of people probably thought of John C. Reilly as more as a supporting character or secondary character and not the main character, but who knows. This is one of the films I'm waiting for on dvd to see it.
I actually thought the film was going to do great business and I honestly that it would have been in the top 5, maybe edging out Sweeney.
OK, I know I'm coming late to the party here, but I just watched his last night and I can't BELIEVE this movie wasn't more of a hit. I laughed the whole way through and I can't get Beautiful Ride out of my head!
Reilly should have been nominated for actor, and without a DOUBT A Beautiful Ride and/or Let's Duet should have been nominated instead of THREE from Enchanted or that lackluster song from August Rush!
I saw this last night on a whim. I was pleasantly surprised! I thought I was going to hate it, but I laughed the whole way through, especially during the Beatles scene.
Paul Rudd can do no wrong!!!
See this movie!
