Walk in Clinics

Hello--

For those in the NYC area. I was wondering if there are any Walk in Clinics? I did a search online but came up with nothing in the area.

If anyone knows of any type of Care Clinics let me know. Thank you.

re: Walk in Clinics

BWW seems to be used as a clinic.

What is your illness?

re: Walk in Clinics

My foot is tingling, and I think I pinched a nerve. So I need to find a walk in clinic, just was seeing if anyone knew of a good one. Otherwise I have to wait till Feb 28th to see the Doctor and by then, my foot could be worse.

Well, I don't live in NYC (or anywhere near there for that matter), but I'm sure Papa can assist you in this issue.

However, in all seriousness, try putting ice on it. It may not help but it doesn't hurt to try. Do you know how you hurt it or when it started?

No, it just started two days ago, I just have to keep an eye on it.

I have no idea. If it's bothering you that much go to an emergency room.

there is a huge difference between going to an emergency room, than going to an walk in clinic.

re: Walk in Clinics

Well, first of all, you said the NYC area, which is pretty huge. I don't know anything about walk-in clinics, so I don't know what the "huge difference" is, unless maybe it's related to cost? An ER can't turn you away, and although you might have to wait a while, you'll be seen and treated if you go to an emergency room.

And I wouldn't just put ice on it unless you know you sprained something (in which it should be x-rayed anyway, and evaluated by a professional).

Dr. Jane here! I wouldn't put ice on it unless it's swollen. Tingling could come from just the opposite-poor circulation, and in that case, you need heat on it.

Thank you Jane. I have a feeling it's poor circulation and perhaps my shoes are too tight, though i would of thought that if it was the shoes, this would be a regular occurance.

I will just have to keep an eye out for it.

What kind of tingling?

I woke up one morning with a crick in my neck. The crick went away, but it's been tingling. So, now I have to start PT for the tingling in my left arm. It's low grade and has been going on for almost two months now.

Don't worry, it won't kill you.

re: Walk in Clinics

Some of the chain pharmacies like CVS offer minute clinics and are staffed by licensed professionals. Don't know if the NY pharmacies participate in these but it's worth a try. mom
