"I am not sure regardless if I would bitch and moan over a lifetime ban from someplace like Walmart or Denny's."

Oh really now?

Wal-Mart drove out the small, family owned grocery store (founded 1940 something) in my hometown. Such a shame, because they were so friendly! Expensive, yes, but it wasn't Wal-Mart.

The last time I went to a Wal-Mart had to be in 2005, when I went home to visit family.

If I ever need Wal-Marty stuff, I always opt for Target. Moral issue aside, I just find Target to have comparable prices and generally a nicer atmosphere (in my area, at least).

And I would definitely be upset without at least two visits to Denny's per year. I don't care what anyone thinks about that. There are times in life one just needs a Slam® to feel better.

I would LOVE to go to Target more often, but living in San Francisco, that's kinda hard. I'm not going all the way to Daly City for Target. I'm just not that kinda person.

I think if you're only going for "Wal-Marty stuff" that means you're going for a small group of specific items, and the 30 dollars you pay at Target will seem comparable to the 22 you'd spend at Walmart. However, a family doing all their shopping in one place (clothing, groceries, household items) is going to spend significantly less at Walmart than they would at Target.

In my area, Target does not have a good grocery section. The small amount they carry is overpriced, so no one would do their legit grocery shopping there. For everything else, I find Target to be that middle road between Walmart/Meijer and the department stores.
