Can get so very annoying.
Like when I saw the movie Crash. Whenever somebody said something even vaguely relating to race, about half the audience's jaws dropped.
But the worst example of this was seeing Fahrenheit 9/11 since it pretty much follows the same formula: Michael Moore sets something up, the audience of 80 year old women lean in so they can hear better, Michael Moore gives us the punchline, and the entire audience gasps. I swear, this same scenario must have happened about a hundred times:
"And just who WAS the man who killed Col. Mustard in the study with the candlestick?"
("Oooo who was it?!?")
"That's right....George W. Bush"
("OMFG!!!!!!!")
Anyone else have this same problem?

F9/11 was a sold out showing full of people who were greatful for what Moore was exposing. So, that was a great experience.
CRASH was a fascinating experience. One girl behind screamed out that it was "the worst film ever" during one particularly difficult scene filled with racist talk. And, the reality was that it was a great film--and she was clearly very involved in it, but it was upsetting her and making her confront and think about difficult issues. Some people don't dig that. They ONLY want entertainment.
But, I HATE sitting in a theatre when gay themes are present. I swear, I HAVE to find a theatre in the least homophobic area of NYC to see BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN. If I have to have that film ruined with one "ugh" "gross" "sick", I will probably end up in jail for homophobe bashing!!

I don't understand what the hell you're complaining about.
You can hear people's jaws drops? You don't like it when people have a visceral response to films?
Just rent the DVDs and sit quietly in your own home in a controlled environment where nobody will impeded on your correct style of viewing.

Posted: 9/11/05 at 1:16amI saw the Aristocrats last night, four of my friends walked out. I was amazed. I thought it was funny. I was the only one laughing during the Mario Cantone part though.

I love seeing movies in NYC -the audiences tend to be more rowdy than the audiences I used to see movies with in other cities.
But yeah, sometimes I definitely want to punch people in the face for not taking things seriously, however.
