The more water you drink, the more you GLOW!
And EVERYONE--don't forget to drink lots and lots of water now that it's so hot out. Drinking soda will make you really dehydrated (not good). :)

There was a thread about how much water/soda you drink a while back, and since then, I haven't drank any soda! I used to love Diet Coke, but I don't drink it anymore. I love green tea. It DOES have a lot of caffeine, but you can buy the decaf kind, which I drink. I also drink Crystal Light once in a while.
About the cancer and Diet Coke thing. Yes, it causes cancer if you drink an average of 100 gallons a day of it. So no one's really at risk.
The only other thing I really drink besides water is Crystal Light. I love the Rasberry Ice kind.

Drinking water is great, but it is possible to drink too much. A woman in the Boston marathon died after the race from hyponatremia, a condition where excess water dilutes the salt level in the body too much. This article talks about how too much water can be dangerous to athletes.

Also, if you're drinking bottled juices like Tropicana, or things like Snapple and Fruitopia, it's just as bad as soda. It's all sugar, sugar, sugar.
Fresh juices on the other hand, such as fruit/veggie blends you press yourself in a juicer, are insamely good for you. Some naturopaths insist you only drink these everyday and you'll still get the necessary water.

In the middle of this past year (january-ish) I started drinking between 5 and 10 glasses of water a day, and overtime I became less stressed and less tired, as well.
I can't imagine being on an "all water" diet, but water is a VERY important part of my daily diet.

Posted: 6/21/05 at 2:21pmk - you've inspired me... I just finished a 1.5 L bottle of Deer Park in place of the usual 1.5 liters of Diet Coke I usually consume... how many glasses are in 1.5 liters anyway?

Ashley, the carbonation makes you lose calcium thing is a myth. And it's a myth still being propagated by my hygenist. "That's what they taught us."
Well, they taught you wrong.

If you weight yourself you can see even see a pound or two gone if you drink more water. (Assuming that you're retaining water to begin with)
