The fact that.....
Never mind.

Posted: 2/1/07 at 10:05pmHopefully people are joking about the "adult" version. There has actually been "adult" versions of all the books. All it is, is a different cover and binding to not make it so "children's lit-ish"

Posted: 2/1/07 at 10:13pmThe British versions have ALWAYS had adult covers and children's covers for the HP series. It's for self-conscious people who are afraid of people seeing them reading a book with a child-lit like cover.

I thought adults got over the embarrassment of reading a kid's book in public ended with the third book.
I am actually kind of glad it is the last one. It has gone on just long enough and after the Half-blood Prince I was ready for it to be finished. Not that I didn't enjoy it, mind you.

Posted: 2/1/07 at 10:17pmI'm actually glad that JKR imposed a limit on the number of books there will be. The last thing I would want to see in the series going on WAY too long and getting into Land Before Time territory.

Posted: 2/1/07 at 10:32pmAhahhaha, Rose_Mac. I love Land Before Time as well but there's like, twenty of them now. But that aside, I am very excited for the final HP book to come out. I love them and JKR's writing style. Unfortunately, I hate the actual character of Harry, but everything else is fantabulous.

Here are the adult editions, in order:

Posted: 2/1/07 at 10:51pmThere was also an "adult" version of Order of the Phoenix that was similar, but looked more like a charcoal or pastel drawing on a black background. I thought it was so cool. I was in England when it had just come out, and already had the US version, and didnt' feel like carrying another copy back with me when I already had one. Now I regret it.

You mean "adult" just means the cover art??
No adolescent high school senior PORN???
Skip it.
I thought she was writing one with sex, drugs and rock & roll... and then the kid-friendly version, where all of that is substituted with Quidditch matches.
I guess if you're going to write a 7,000-page book, you don't really want to do it twice.
