Man, this makes me feel old. I remember when it was released I was in 1st grade and begged for the LP which we bought at Record Bar (remember that place??

I think it still holds up as an incredible compilation of some of the best talent of all time in one of the best songs of all time.

Surprising that for how long ago it was, how many of those artists are still going strong, and how few actually died since then... only Ray Charles and Michael Jackson, as near as I can tell.

We've lost June Pointer since then as well. I easily recognize Anita & Ruth in the background but can't pick June out of the crowd.

To this day, I can't hear the song without wanting to label all of the artists. When I am alone in the car, I give many a name drop.
