re: Welcome, Anthony Rapp! (part three)

It's OBC cast recording. Not soundtrack. (/end pet peeve)

Sorry...I knew it sounded wrong

Aww, no need to apologize!
It's just a pet peeve of mine. If you were talking about the movie, it would be sountrack.

Anthony sounds so amazing in...well, everything, but my personal favorite is 'Without You'. Maybe that's just because I liked it so much better than the other people that sang it I could compare it to, but I just can't stop listening to it.

And, random, but in 'Right Brain', did anyone have the gutter-brain thought that Roger was talking about his inability to get it up as well as his inability to write good songs?

re: Welcome, Anthony Rapp! (part three)

I still need to buy the OBC recording. I only have some of the songs on my computer. I'm such a lazy bum.

Gotcha...thanks for correcting me, I hate making stupid mistakes like that.

Anyway, on with the conversation...

I love that line!

Yeah, I had to special-order Far From Home... it was worth it!

I am definitely glad that Jonathan changed Right Brain to One Song Glory. It just...doesn't work. OSG is amazing, but Right Brain makes me giggle.

The arguement between Mark and Maureen in NYTW is awesome, but I cannot think of the name now. The whole Mark being such a perv in NYTW is awesome, but so different from how it turned out.

Some of the lines in Right Brain have potential but it didn't work for the moment.

Over It is one of my favorites...

What's NYTW??

Right Brain is a very giggle-worthy song. I listen to it when I'm in a bad mood. It makes me giigle and I feel better. By the way, I cannot stand NYTW Roger.
Pillowpants. 'Nuff said.

NYTW is the New York Theater Workshop- the *original* Rent in 1994. Only Anthony Rapp and Daphne (Mimi) made the jump from there to Broadway.

'Get Over It' is the Maureen and Mark fight. I love that song. Maureen was so much nicer in the NYTW version.

I can never take Right Brain seriously, even though it is supposed to be a completely serious song. That is the song that tells everything about Roger's character, pretty much. So yea, it just doesn't work for me. I would love to see Adam sing it though.

Yeah!!! But I also love him in What You Own and Tango Maureen. He's so cute.

What argument is this between Mark and Maureen?? is it in the movie?

re: Welcome, Anthony Rapp! (part three)

I think Right Brain is only giggle-worthy because of Tony Hoylen's voice. The lyrics would seem better if someone else sang it.

Anthony and Daphne weren't the only ones, Giles Chiasson(Squeegee Man, Steve) made the jump too.

re: Welcome, Anthony Rapp! (part three)

'Get Over It' is the Maureen/Mark argument. It's only in the NYTW version, and it takes the place of "Tango: Maureen".
