Still think its a shame, i thought it was one of NBC better shows, what makes me laugh is they are replacing ir with re runs of Prime Suspect, a show thats doing just as bad as Playboy Club, goo old NBC.
What angers me more is only a few days ago the head of NBC said he was going to stand behind The Playboy Club and Free Agents leading everyone to beleive it would at least get its 13 episodes.
This was not even close to marginally watchable NBC shows. NBC does have good to great shows, it just at this point cares about the 18-49 demographic in terms of ratings as CBS pretty much has a hook on the older viewers. That's why their quality-shows with smaller audiences but critical darlings e.g. Community and Parenthood have lasted this long.
Prime Suspect (the second episode was pretty solid) re-runs are being used until Brian Williams gets his news magazine show which will then be filled in a slot for Smash. PS is a Peter Berg production, responsible for Friday Night Lights, so he has NBC's trust and patience than whoever was behind The Playboy Club. Plus cop shows tend to find some audience than a period piece. I know Pan-Am got good ratings as a period piece show, but it also got way better reviews and word of mouth along with having big-time TV people behind it.
I wonder what to think of giving Whitney a full-season (Up All Night at least has a charming cast). It almost made me appreciate Outsourced.

I thought the show was watchable, not brilliant writing by any means, but fun. I knew it wouldn't last, but I hoped it would make it through an entire season. I honestly really want to know what was going to happen with that cliffhanger at the end of the third episode.

Pan-Am also has the perfect lead in. So far it has enough romance and mystery to keep the Desperate Housewives audience. The Sing-Off Crowd wouldn't seem to have much interest in The Playboy Club (other than some being Broadway fans)
I have Pan Am on my DVR list... I'm excited to watch Borg episodes. I need something new to watch now that Playboy Club is gone.
Couldn't get through the first episode, and I'm not much of a Benanti fan. All this 60's stuff is starting to blur together.
The PTC can kiss my grits.

Regardless of the PTC, the show was pretty awful.
I enjoyed Pan Am more, but the Playboy Club was beginning to grow on me a little.
