West End Theatre is amazing

I saw Billy Elliott and Sunday in the Park With George last week and I have to say they were both amazing and I love West End Theatre now.

I've only seen one West End show. Twas a play. The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged). It was hilarious.

I saw Saturday Night Fever back in 1998 i believe, twas good.


ETA I don't know what theatre it was at but it was a West End Theatre

Just like Broadway, it has the good and not so good stuff. It's been a while since I was in London and in November I plan on seeing "Evita" and "Billy Elliot" and unless it extends its run, I'll miss "Sunday In The Park With George". My last theatre trip was in the early 90s. "Les Mis" and "Miss Saigon" were both good but I was not overly impressed with the productions of "Blood Brothers", "Shadowlands" "Shirley Valentine" and some very forgettable Alan Ayckbourn play.

I've seen a lot of West End Shows, going all the back to the original London production of MY FAIR LADY (which was amazing), but, overall, I don't find it any better than Broadway. Apples and oranges.
