This post is for the hardcore fans of The West Wing.
In an episode where flashback scenes were used to explain how the Bartlett team came together, Toby was sitting at a bar getting drunk because he felt he was about to be fired from Bartlett's campaign staff. There was a woman sitting next to him and they chatted for a bit. She had a great character face and I have searched all over and can't find the name of the actress who played her. Any ideas?

geek...you'll know this...
what is the official title of the episode that contains the 'I serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States of America' -- that was one of my favorites.

oof, I was wrong, it wasn't the last episode, it was the fourth-to-last episode (those double-sided DVDs always mix me up, but how could I forget the REAL first season finale? it was incredible!)
And President Bartlet only spells his last name with two "T"s, not three. My bad.
That is the correct episode title, though.

Chita1933, was it Pamela Gordon?

Posted: 1/12/08 at 2:08pmI'm not sure who she was - I only vaguely remember her face - but God, I love the West Wing. Though it always does bother me that Bartlet spells his name like that and not "Bartlett," though his ancestor Josiah Bartlett spelled his name with two T's. I guess over time names are altered.

Posted: 1/12/08 at 2:11pmUntil I looked it up on IMDb I thought it was "Bartlett". THat is kinda weird. I could SWEAR that when John Spencer writes out "Let Bartlet be Bartlet" at the end of the episode we were discussing he spelled it with two Ts on the end. But I'm obviously wrong.

Dear pab,
Yes. That's the actress. Pamela Gordon. She died a few years after that performance on The West Wing. I don't know why but she made an impression on me. Just goes to show what a good actor can do with a few lines.
Thanks again pab.
PS: the episode where she appeared at the bar with Toby was "In The Shadow of Two Gunmen: Part 1" Season 2

Posted: 1/13/08 at 9:32amOne of the best episodes of the series, in my opinion. Makes me tear up every time I watch it.

Posted: 1/13/08 at 10:17amOne of my favorite WW moments ever was the flashback to the campaign and they show Jed going to the airport to talk to Josh when his father died.

Yeah, Tink, that was in the next episode...just perfect.
*spoilers, if anyone cares*
In the episode Chita mentioned, I always tear up at the beginning when they're at the scene of the shooting and one of the cops is talking to CJ and she's telling him about how she hit her head and then she says, "Is the president dead?" The way she delivers it is somehow so heartbreaking, I always get shaken up by it.
Also, in Season One Episode Five, "The Crackpots And These Women" I always choke up when CJ and Josh are talking about his sister, about potential nuclear war. Bradley Whitford just conveys so much fear and pain in that scene, it's beautifully acted and beautifully written.
I love this show so much, haha.

The entire cast of that show was just brilliant. Every single one of them was able to convey so much by doing so little.
I loved Bradley Whitford's face in the episode where Marlee Matlin's character shows up pregnant. And of course Allison Janney is perfection.
