So many of us on this board are acquainted with famous people - how many know famous animals?

I read about that, SOMMS. As I recall, one reviewer called him "the most adorable domestic sea creature since Nemo."

The Bucks County Courier Times said that he gave a performance on par to Charlie the Tuna's Macbeth. He was up for a "Petty" but lost to a Schnauser, a bitch named Talulah.

re: Westminster Kennel Club

That's really too bad. Did that sour him on the business?

Sono I'm crossing my fingers for Ch. Prescott Charlie Bird Parker to win his breed and then onto the group and finally BEST IN SHOW. It's a bitch of a contest.

re: Westminster Kennel Club

My two friends are the web photogs for the Westminster Show. If you go on the show's website all of the pictures that you see were taken by them.

Let's hope they are snapping my nephew's photo! Parker all the way!

re: Westminster Kennel Club

I hope so too! Wheatens never get the press that they deserve. Perhaps it is just with the few shows that I've watched, but they never seem to get that much air time. I already set the Replay (same thing as Tivo) for tonight's show.

Argh. If I had more than basic cable, I'd watch... I always used to. re: Westminster Kennel Club
Best of luck, though! re: Westminster Kennel Club

Parker did not win Best of Breed. re: Westminster Kennel Club
However, he did win the Award of Merit, so he was essentially first runner-up. He has already qualified for the National Dog Show next year.

re: Westminster Kennel Club

How old is he? Congrats on the Award of Merit!

re: Westminster Kennel Club

I don't know that much about dog shows, but from what I've read, 2 is really young to be winning such a high award! Congrats!
