Christiane Noll-Now When the Rain Falls
Savage Garden-Truly, Madly, Deeply
Savage Garden-I Don't Know You Anymore (more of a love-lost song, but everyone dumps me eventually anyway, so it's good to have in the arsenal)
Elton John-Your Song
Sarah McLachlan-I Love You
Over the Rainbow by IZ (no one but haoles calls him Israel Kamakawiwo'ole) is simply amazing.
I own all of his cd's.......an amazing musician never truly appreciated outside of Hawai'i partly due to his size and the genre of music.....who tragically took his own life.
All of his songs have so much meaning, and truly reflect what it means to be Hawaiian today.
There will not be another like him
I have to agree with you. I have all of his recordings, as well...his Wonderful World is TOTALLY weep-worthy, too.
I bought 'Facing Future' (in my opinion his best cd) in 1998 at the Maui Tropical Plantation, having no idea who he was. And from then on I was hooked.
He just speaks to a place in me that I guess had not been touched before.
I have always not been thrilled with the way that we aquired Hawai'i......and the song about what Hawaii's former kings and queens would say if they say Hawai'i now always gets to me.
I really wonder what kinds of things he would have done had he lived
Eric Clapton - "Wonderful Tonight"
Elton John - "Something About The Way You Look Tonight"
Fiddler - "Do You Love Me"
Kenny Loggins "For The First Time"
Pippin - "Love Song"
I second, third, fourth and fifth Unchained Melody, be it from the Righteous Brothers, Bono
or...didn't Clay Aiken do it on AI? At the risk of over-speaking, I think it's a near perfect song. Sung properly, it makes me tear up every time.
And I second My Song as well, because I'm on an Elton John kick right now.
fool in the rain - led zeppelin
the milkman of human kindness - billy bragg
my heart stood still - rodgers & hart
pride & joy - stevie ray vaughn
unforgettable - nat king cole
sea of love - honeydrippers version
fortunately gone - breeders
i wanna be your boyfriend - ramones
you never call me by my name - david allen coe

I'm a sucker for
"All I Ask of You" from POTO
My wedding... my husband better be a damn good singer. Because we're singing it when we're coming down the isle by God.

I'll think of more later. Right now I'm brain dead.
