I'm Hamilton, too! And once I break the brick wall on that line I'm sure I'll find more. John Hamilton and his brothers were mooncussers (pirates) and were expelled from Scotland in the early/mid 1700s and shipped to the New World as cargo...His wife supposedly hailed from the Isle of Guernsey.

and I may have ties to William Wallace (whose line actually involves Wales).

Aah! I love tracing Genealogy!

I supposedly have more ties through the other side of my family, but I haven't had time to look them up. I am planning on doing a lot of geneological research after my summer classes end and I have more free time.

I'm basically an American mutt with some Scottish ancestry but no idea what clan. Family names I know, not even sure which are Scots and which are Irish or something else. Moore, for instance, is Irish, isn't it?

I think that long ago I had a skirt that sported the Stewart plaid. Had no idea what I was wearing!

My wife was reading the OUTLANDER series and she asked me, "You are in the FRASER clan aren't you? Because the main male character is in the FRASER clan." I was like sweeeeeeeet! Go FRASERs.

Yes the main character in those books is a Fraser and if Fraser men are all like he is, then your wife is a VERY lucky lady.
