re: Just for a moment, can we...

that's a rather limited topic, Moonie - do you think we can expand it a bit?

Oh certainly...

How's this: "What do you believe?"

re: Just for a moment, can we...

I believe in Jesus. I suppose you could even call me a Christian. However, I subscribe to the "historical critical" interpretation of the Bible, not a fundamental one. I tend to want the Bible interpreted within the time frame in which it was written, taking into account social influences, mores, values of the time...

I believe that children are the future. Teach them well and let them lead the way.

I believe in love. Do you believe in magic?
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

I still believe that someday you and me ...
(****, how does that song go)

will be together (?)

I believe I'm with Joe. Set 'em up, Joe. I got a little story I think you should know.

I believe we should all crowd around and sing "Melancholy Baby" in our beer steins...

I believe in love...I do believe in love...
Do you believe in love?
You better believe in love
I believe that now is a time for all good men to come to the age of
My country tis of thee
Sweet land of Liberty
God save....
I believe in love...
I believe that now is the time
for all good men and women
to come to the age of love
I believe in Love! Yeah!

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

re: Just for a moment, can we...

Well, as Johnnie Ray and the party-goers sang in THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS -

Brothers
And sisters

Listen
You non-believers, listen
You better start to believe
All you doubters
Be "hallelujah shouters"
Or else you're going to grieve
There's no time to wait
You may be too late
So, listen
You don't know what you're missin'
Until you start to believe

If you believe that there's a heaven
You'll get to heaven
If you believe

If you believe that there are angels
You'll see the angels
If you believe

I'm not making promises
To the doubting Thomases

But if you believe the Lord can help you
The Lord will help you
If you believe

-We do, we do, we do
Do you believe?
-We do, we do, we do
Do you believe?
-We do, we do, we do
Well, Jonah went out one night in a gale
Do you believe that?
-We do, we do, we do
Soon, he was swallowed up by a whale
Do you believe that?
-We do, we do, we do
Daniel lay down with lions that roared
Noah was on his ark when it poured
Moses looked up and he spoke to the Lord
Do you believe that?
Do you believe that? We do
-We do, we do

Now I'm not making promises
To the doubting Thomases

But if you believe the Lord can help you
The Lord will help you
If you believe

I do too, Justice. I've got them in the bottom of my garden.

re: Just for a moment, can we...

Nmartin,
Do you let the gnomes interact with yours? My Gnomes have bite marks on their noses, and many of them have been complaining to me that the Fairies have been stealing their magic mushrooms.
"What do you think they intend to do with them?" I asked one, one day.
"Throw them at your house and turn it into a large Gourde", said the little gnome.
Well, sure enough, when I walked out of my house this morning, it was no longer a house, but a Giant Pumpkin.
Those damn Fairies!
