What is that you guys hate about Kristin Chenoweth?

I mean, sure, her voice is...err...not normal...and she might be...err...blonde. I'm afraid of feeling very guilty about posting this since I'm a huge Cheno fan, but what else is there to hate about her. I mean, she is like the revival of the Broadway female superstar that has been extinct since the deaths of such personalities as Ethel Merman, Mary Martin, and the like. She is like the definition of what a Broadway female actor should be!!

I don't understand what else is there to hate about her...and please...no swearing!

I happen to think she's great.

I happen to enjoy her as a performer. In my experience, those who hate her (and there are many) are angered and disturbed by her "born again Christian" religous beliefs--about which, she is very vocal, and by the (never proven one way or the other) implication that she is therefore a conservative Republican Bush supporter. In the past, it may not have made much difference, but today, with all that is at stake and in contention, it is a source of tremendous controversey and ill-feeling.

Hate is such a strong word.
For someone to actually feel hatred toward another human being is a very ugly trait.
There's nothing to hate about Kristin Chenoweth.
Yes there are those who may dislike her as a performer, and they are entitled, but I fail to see the point of a thread that will basically be a laundry list of dislike.
So useless....

I don't hate her. She's a talented performer.

I do, however, think that with a little exaggeration, her voice would be perfect for Lina in 'Singin' in the Rain'.

I love La Cheno. Well, maybe not LOVE, but I don't hate her either. I've never seen her perform, but from what I've heard, she has a WONDERFUL soprano voice (her speaking voice sort of hits a couple of nerves) and she seems somewhat down-to-earth, despite her looks.

Chenoweth is fabulous. I understand the whole "tolerance of others' opinions" crap, but, honestly, if someone says otherwise, then he's either kidding himself or not familiar with her body of work.

Or, heck, even Patti LuPone, Angela Lansbury, Carol Channing...


For the record, I think Kristin Chenowith is very talented, and I enjoy watching/listening to her. I'm not sure what I think of her as a person, but as a performer, she's great.

I agree with Broadwaybelter, not everyone hates her, not everyone likes her. If you want only a board that loves a specific person you go to that person's own personal board.
Otherwise I think you will find as many people that are fan's of hers are there are not.
And sometimes even fans may not like everything she does either.
