What is the definition of a "standing ovation"?

Does one person standing alone considered a standing ovation? Somebody at CoCo's Corner does:

Broadway Unplugged was fantastic. The entire cast has incredible singing chops and William Michals got two standing ovations when he sang. One standing ovation was by me and the other standing ovation almost half the audience stood up.
PEACE.

I'm standing at my kitchen counter right now. I'm showing it how much I appreciate it's sturdiness!

I thought the title of this thread said, "What is the definition of a 'standing ovulation'".

I'm sorry that's a lie. I just wanted to type "standing ovulation".

I also apologize if my period placement is incorrect. I wasn't sure where to put it. (Pun not intended, but it still makes me giggle.)

Standing Ovation -- The act of really aggressively showing your appreciation for something so that you don't feel like a total fool for blowing so much money on it.

The one time I saw William Michals in a show he had a scene in boxer shorts and he definitely got a standing ovation from me, and I didn't even have to leave my seat.

I saw Bobby Cannavale in HURLYBURLY, and his one scene in blue bikini briefs ensured I wouldn't be able to stand up for a while afterward.
