Plum, I probably should have used the word "pamper" instead of "baby". I probably wouldn't dress my dog up, but I don't really care if other people do. I don't really think a Scottish terrier for example is really going to care if they have a sweater on as long as it's not hot and he can still do all the dog things they usually do. If the dog doesn't go out of it's way to try to get the clothes off, I don't really see a problem.

I love me some Oprah like nobody's business, but lately her promos have been tabloidish and misleading. This is not what she's about, yet her promos are ridiculous.

A month or two ago she was gonna get her ears pierced on the show so the promo showed an extreme close-up of her face, nervous and screaming. In a dramatic voiceover, someone says "You've laughed with her. You've cried with her. For 18 years, Oprah has been there for you. Now, she needs YOUR help." And you hear her say "Ah ah hold my hand. HOLD MY HAND! Ahhhhh!!!" (fade to black)

Here you think it's some big deal and the bitch (whom I LOVE, don't get me wrong) is getting her ears pierced.

Now this is being portrayed as a "deep dark family secret". I guarantee the ONLY reason Stedman is appearing on the show is to dispel rumors that they have broken up.

Hiss boo.
(But you can guarantee I'll be Tivo-ing my girl just like every other day.)

I don't think Oprah has control over her promos- that's the job of the publicity people at her TV station. Kind of like how journalists' headlines are written by separate people, and so often don't really reflect the content of the article.

Oh no. Oprah owns the show. This "Daughter" promo was made by her company to hype the show. She controls every aspect. I never watch the broad myself, but if she didn't want a promo of herself screaming "Ah ah hold my hand. HOLD MY HAND! Ahhhhh!!!" there would be no footage released of her doing that very thing.

I watched that ear-piercing episode. That WAS the entire episode. I have never seen anything so ridiculously self-indulgent in my life. Yet, I couldn't turn away...

I don't really care what Oprah does with her dog in private, but why subject viewers (and the rest of us who have to watch the promos) to her cloying, precious, pathetic behavior?

I don't know the answer to this question, but I was thinking....do you know how bad it would suck to have Oprah as your mother?? That would be the weirdest thing EVER. Way too much to live up to...and you know she'd be the inspirational talk kind of mother, and try to ask you weird questions about sex....and then there are the perks........

"Where are you going after school?" "Over to my friend's house" "Okay...I'll pick you up later " (Later) "Hey---your mom's here...what are all those cars doing in my driveway?" Oprah: "Everybody gets a car"........
