Into the Woods, maybe? If you can find the 10th anniversary Les Miserables concert, that's a great one to own, too.

Michael which ones of those are the best dance numbers...I am waiting until new sound of music comes out
You should check out The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.
It's a classic French musical starring Catherine Deneuve, and the colours are so so gorgeous. It's really something unique.
If you want impressive dancing you should get HELLO DOLLY. As controversial as the film is, I think its pretty enjoyable, and the dancing is fantastic.
CABARET is of course pretty inventive. I'd also check out ALL THAT JAZZ.
And some of the old MGM films like SEVEN BRIDES and AMERICAN IN PARIS have amazing dance sequences.
It's not on DVD yet, but you would probably love THATS DANCING -- a MGM compilation of the best dance numbers from their catalog.

It's...okay. But that's not really my favorite musical in the first place.
Well it will all depend on whether you like Streisand's performance. I'm not a big fan, but I find her amusing in this. If you're auditioning for it, it makes sense to buy it, especially because it's an inexpensive dvd.

Buy yourself 3-4-5 musicals and then pick up a copy of Lifeguard starring Sam Elliott and Parker Stevenson running around shirtless, in shorts and memorably in Speedos.
The movie is awful (play it without the sound), but the 'scenery' is just marvelous. Its a perfect party dvd.
Forty Second Street!
treat yourself to a classic movie musical.
Oh I second Victor Victoria for sure. The film, not the play on dvd.

I'm going to go with CATS. It's good background music for when you've got some major house cleaning.
Singin' In The Rain! (10th Best Film of All Time according to the AFI)
