"Eh...I'm still partial to Saddle Brook, NJ."
Too funny! You are a landmark, one of the only north jersey towns to have a WAL-MART!

I love New York City...the energy is so unique and intense.
But, these days I have been so much time researching the border towns that the have fallen in love with the mayhem and danger of them. Nogales, Bisbee, Douglas, Tijuana, Arivaca, Four Points, and Altar. It's awful and wonderful at the same time...the juxtaposition of rapid development and extreme poverty -- the smells, the dust, the insane drivers and the burned out vans...I'm still not brave enough to actually drive across the border I still park and cross by foot.
Honestly,
you can smell life and death in every breath...
see pain and hope in every face..
It's awesome and lonely and desperate and intense.

Is that a poem?

Nope.
I am only a passable sort of writer...just barely competent enough to get a point across the way I meant it. I believe for once I actually manged to do it quite well, because I do feel every time I am down there that it is something close to poetic to be there.

^ Aye, Peterborough.
I love it there.
However my heart goes to NYC, it's like my second home.
Although, I do like Newburyport, MA and Portland, ME a lot too.

New York and Melbourne, Australia - both places have that feeling of home for me.
Worcester, Mass grew on me after a few years...

Nothing comes close to New York City for me !!! I adore everything in this city and if they told me I'd be able to visit only one city till the day I day, that would be my choice !!!!
But, having said that, aesthetically, the most beautiful city is Paris !!!!
And than I'd put London, Washington DC and Amsterdam !!!
P.S I've never been to Italy, I am sure I'll like Rome, though.
