The new threads spoofing the common threads are just as boring. There are just as many and then you have all the people jumping on the bandwagon trying to be as funny as the original posting the same thing clogging up the Off-Topic board with five threads with just one word changed.

I think threads should be deleted if there is an almost identical one in the top fifty.

Well Rob and Craig don't catch everything becuse the sheer volume of posts. They are more concerned with making sure the board is running smoothly and watching out for personal attacks and such. We are not going to get these posters who don't know about threads to already exist to stop making new threads unless we explain to them (and yes we have to be nice) that there is a search function and even just telling them to look down the page. If we can get them to realize it is in their greater interest and they will find out quite a bit more about what they want to know if they do a search, then they will start looking for threads before they post. If we just yell at them they are not going to listen to us. I have no patience with people who complain about how bad things are but refuse to do anything to make things better.
