I'm a director (the username is from 8th grade), so my equipment is slightly different, but there's a lot of overlap because I like to take care of my actors.
- The play. Inevitably already tattered before rehearsals even begin.
- Print out of the SMs notes from the night before, containing the day's rehearsal schedule.
- Print out of any dramaturgical stuff I want to share with the cast/crew.
- Pencils (enough for me, my SM, any designers who might drop in on rehearsal to take notes, and all my actors).
- Highlighters (in many colors, for myself and my actors).
- My 32oz. water bottle. I have to drink a lot during rehearsal otherwise I get tired, as does my throat.
- Cough drops for actors.
- Hair things for actors.
- Post-It flags for noting where questions came up that require further thought.
- Spiral notebook for my notes, which start out neatly and by tech/dress look like another language.
- Something comfy, like a sweater or scarf...I always end up wrapping myself up in weird contorted ways while answering actors' questions.
- iPod with warm-up music and anything for the show.
And anything I want the actors to be able to play with that day.

Right now I have...
Jazz shoes
Script/score

Inhaler
Multiple packs of gum
Makeup
Tights
Like 20 pencils because I lose them constantly
iPod

Also for every show I'm in I have a different food that I'll eat for a snack during rehearsals. For this one it's popcorn; for the last show I did it was watermelon coolatas from Dunkin' Donuts, which were slightly harder to carry.
Since everyone was listing makeup in their bag, does anyone else think the world would just not go round without Ben Nye and Kroyolan.
