All I've heard, is that he's being accused of sexual assault.
Now, what that has to do with raiding his warehouse and confiscating money from a safe, I have no idea.

tazber, that link didn't work for me.
David Blaine is straight. Copperfield seems to be an egomaniac. I can remember when he was here in Denver when I first moved here and he was reportedly a pain to work with. he made audiences wait for up to an hour for the show to start. I think we waited about 20 minutes when he returned and I saw him.

Posted: 10/29/07 at 9:41pmWhen David was in his height of popularity, my family used to go and see his shows. I got disenchanted when I saw his show for the second time a couple of years after the first one. He selected a "random" person out of the audience and used her purse. It was the exact same purse he used the first time I saw his show- I remembered it because it was one of those organizer purses that was so out of style. I never went to another show. I thought he was good-looking and he had these intense eyes. I remember he used to do this number to Weekend in New England. I did think he was gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) and was so surprised when he was engaged to Claudia.

Long ago and far away, I was a magician's assistant. It is VERY common to have decoys in the audience. While I have never worked with Copperfield, I have heard enough that I wouldn't want to.

Posted: 10/29/07 at 10:13pmDid anyone read about he and 2 of his assistants being held up in Florida after a performance? His 2 female assistant's gave the robbers money, etc. but Copperfield supposedly used slight of hand the hide his belongings. The robbers were caught. I think this was last year.

Posted: 10/30/07 at 2:25pmWhen I went to see his show in Atlantic City, I got there an hour late, but the show started two hours late. Also, my dad was one of the participants, and was certainly not a decoy, though I don't doubt some people were.
