He's never really annoyed me, acting-wise. He's basically just playing his public persona. I'm not sure why everyone thinks he's so godawful.
I don't think he's godawful but his acting ability COMPARED to his writing and directing ability...not so much.
He's fine in FROM DUSK TIL DAWN and servicable in PULP FICTION and RESERVOIR DOGS.
He's nowhere near as bad as Rebecca Pigeon...but who is?

He's like a marginally more talented Keanu Reeves. He can deliver his own stuff, and have it make sense. If you want to see what is wrong with his acting, try to find a little disaster called DESTINY TURNS ON THE RADIO, you won't believe your eyes.
I don't think he is horrible at acting. I'm sure if he focused more on it, rather than directing and writing, he would probably be better. But there's no reason for that.
Roscoe, love the new av.
He actually wasn't bad in Grindhouse, with the small role he had.
But, as much as I LOVE Pulp Fiction, his scene sticks out like a sore thumb. His line deliveries were either hesitant or forced.

Really? I thought PULP was his best performance. "Dead n****r storage!"
It was kind of awkward because he was acting alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Harvey Keitel but eh meh meh.
He's not an actor with a huge range -- but he knows how to use what he has. Probably why he's one of the few directors to get great performances out of Uma.
