re: What show is at the bottom of your list of shows you want to see

I would never NOT see anything. If I had the monetary means and/or the opportunity, I would see as many shows as I could, regardless of whether I had an abundance of interest or not. Who knows? It may pleasantly surprise me. I'm surprised at how much people are willing to write off a show without seeing it first. You know that old adage? Don't judge a book by its cover. Of course, it's your prerogative, but to me it doesn't make sense. Just my two cents.

ETA: I just noticed that the last two sentences rhyme. re: What show is at the bottom of your list of shows you want to see
Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae
Vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra
Salve, Salve Regina
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Eva
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes

ooh, Mamma Mia would probably be up there for me too. Also We will Rock you, and Tarzan.

edit: it would probably be down there!
The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Ah I missed that. I feel stupid right now. But I saw one of the guys from GV in WICKED he played Fieyro that guy playe Jan in it.
Well to tell the truth I saw a movie about The Beach Boys and i was horrified at some of the content. Plus my mom didn't want me to see the show because she thought it would be the same. I actually wanted to see it. i'm very sorry. again feeling very stupid. I just can't beleive that MAMMA MIA! Is going to be made into a movie musical! "What's the world comming to!" I just hope that the orchestra will be bigger. LOL.

I still can't beleive that they're opening another production of Tarzan in the Netherlands. We need some more long runners don't you think? I mean these So-Called-Hits are closing! For example DRS what happened!

I think the less Cats-esque long runners are just pointless. I'd MUCH rather have new shows coming in.

If I were offered free tickets to Jay Johnson, I would ask for those hours back when I was on my deathbed.

Theater is theater, and I'll always see theater, but Jay Johnson doesn't make it into my book of legit theater.

That's true. I would see every show if possible, and it was within my budget. But Spamalot and Mamma Mia would probably be two of the last ones I would choose to see.

I would say Spamalot because I can't even sit through a Monty Python movie...just not a fan.

That's closely followed by Mamma Mia! because I've road tripped with my parents when their ABBA CD was in the car and it got really annoying really fast. That "Voulez-Vous" song didn't help, either. As someone who studies French, it grated on me. Do you want to what?!

How about Flower Drum Song? But wait I need to post this. when I heard that Les Miz will have a 15 piece orchestra I was like "no way!" a show like that SHOULD NOT EVER have a small orchestra! The reason why is that Cameron Mackintosh can't afford it. Yeah right! One of my favorite musicals is now at the bottom of my list! Small orchestras are the reason GREAT shows are closing. like Sweeney Todd (10 piece) I have no idea why Mamma Mia! is still running, i guess that when a show is playing at The Winter Garden it must have a LONG run. like CATS.

Dollypop: The reason I asked is because MISS SAIGON is also a modern retelling of a Puccini opera, in this case MADAME BUTTERFLY.

Caroline: MISS SAIGON had already closed by the time the SWEENEY TODD revival opened.
