Whats with the auto play ads?

They are at the bottom of each window and very, very, very annoying! How does one disable them?
This is something that started last night on this site.

It's undermining my Spotify enjoyment. ("What a weird remix on this Echo & The Bunnymen track. Why is Sherrie Rene Scott referencing Lysol in her version of 'Up the Ladder to the Roof'?")

To be totally honest -- and I realize advertising pays the bills -- if I have to choose between having BWW open and listening to Spotify while I surf the web, Spotify wins. The commercials keep turning the volume back on after I mute them.

Sorry. I'm just being honest.

I view BWW on Chrome and use their ad-blocker. Before that I did the same thing with Firefox. I haven't been troubled with an ad on BWW in years.

Yeah NAmo they do keep turning the volume back up! Annoying as hell and they are at the bottom of the window. You have to scroll down to find it to turn it off only to have it come back on again when the next commercial starts!

I don't have much room on my computer hard drive for another browser besides Safari.

The thing about some of these auto-play ads is that they're not automatically considered advertisements by all ad-blockers, but media players. I've manually blocked a few, only to discover I couldn't watch embedded video I wanted to watch on other sites.

As suddenly as they appeared , they are gone. Thank-you BWW Gods if it was in face you!
