In a routine PSA test, my number came up somewhat elevated. As a precaution my urologist, who found my bladder cancer, did a prostate biopsy.Luckily my followup bladder screening was OK
Out of 12 specimens he took , 11 were normal. One was a question mark it may be nothing or it may be the very early start of prostate cancer . If the latter, it would involve low level radiation 10 minutes a day, 5 days a week, for 10 minutes a day.He said it would not be radical. If the 2 nd opinion on the abnormal specimen came up inconclusive he would watch it
The moral is see your doctor - even when you think all is OK
I am going to a new doctor soon and I have to get the first physical that I have ever received.
I do hope that everything is alright for you.
Thanks & good luck to you as well,

Sorry for your minor troubles and all that, Roxy, but you're kind of stretching it when you consider 1 out of 12 tests showing anything being "when it rains, etc." I dunno, maybe it's because a dear friend just had all but 15% of her liver removed because breast cancer she thought was all gone two years ago snuck down there. And now she has a horrible cold because she has no white blood cells. That just strikes me as a more of a downpour is all.
And the fact is, you openly make fun of people on here who are in favor of preventative health measures. You mock people who don't eat meat (and then you get a chunk of your intestine cut out). You think smoking bans are stupid because busses idle. It just strikes me as odd that you have previously crowed that "something's gotta kill ya" and now you've got something that might be wrong and it's all serious.
# 12 is microscopic cancer I was told today.I am looking @ 7 weeks Mon Thru Friday 10 minutes a day of radiation treatments
If you think this is a mere downpour, I hope it does not happen to you .
I wish your friend a speedy recovery. Thankfully I will get this out of the way in case ocama care passes. If so, I will be kicked the curb along with others.By the way, with my wife surviving thyroid cancer, my mother dying of bile duct cancer, a good friend dying of prostate cancer plus my colon/bladder & now this, I think I kind of beat you in the cancer sweepstakes.

Under Obama health care, you'll be left on an ice flow to die. at least that's what Fox News says.

I guess all the blue dog democrats get their news from Fox. Ditto for all those interviewed in recent polls who feel the same way.
Re Obama Care be careful what you wish for as you may get it. I guess the rush to ram it through Congress is because it won't pass the smell test. I guess the Congressional Budget Office is a mere puppet of that great bogeyman Fox News. Reminds me of Pavlov's Dog - Fox News . Feel free to foam at the mouth & rant & rage over another opinon
There is just too much money being made from the crappy health care system we have now. The insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies and the doctors have huge amount of money flowing into lobbying against any type of health care reform.
Their best mode of attack is to scare the populace with ridiculous claims like it will kill the elderly off. Only fools would believe that.
The elderly are the most easy to alarm and scare with propaganda. They are also the most powerful and wealthy faction of the country. If the elderly fear that their healthcare autonomy is at risk, all hell will break loose. The elderly do not care that poor people have no coverage. They never did and never will.

Again, Roxy, sorry for your troubles but it's hard to muster up sympathy for you when you turned it into a slam about health care reform. As a matter of fact, I CLEARLY remember when you very vocally argued five years ago on this very board that nobody has a RIGHT to healthcare. So, good luck.
And as much as I would like to see the part of healthcare reform that will not allow the insurance companies to cherry pick its clients, there would be a small part of me that would see it as just desserts if you, as the cancer survivor you will soon be, were to be dropped from your insurance rolls because you're too much of a liability.
Because as you pointed out, you don't have any right to quality healthcare.
