First McCain gets all pissy and refuses an interview because the interviewer got tough with one of McCain's aids, now Sarah Palin is too big of a COWARD to be interviewed until she has been coached.

These people call themselves mavericks? PUH-LEASE! COWARDS!


I think the Palin-mania is going to peak and crash pretty hard soon.

They are handling her brilliantly. This less is more approach is genius. Charlie Gibson will ask her a bunch of fluff and it will carry this on and on. I anxiously await her in a debate.

I actually would not have minded Katie Couric interviewing her. Or Diane Sawyer. I think a woman interviewing her would be a good way to avoid the Sexism claim - which I am sure will be screamed if any tough questions are raised.

The major news services (at least the networks) will play softball because they don't want to be blacklisted from whatever new administration takes over.

I was looking forward to the debates and then I remembered what the 'debates' are really like. Prescreened and approved questions. No actual debating. Nothing off the cuff. Interviews will be the same way - prescreen and pre approve the questions or they won't play.

I had heard McCain had hand picked Gibson. Probably a lot of agreements and rules applied before signing the deal. Lets not forget, this is her FIRST interview so ABC and Gibson will do whatever it takes to land this interview, including selling out and probably having McCain's camp view the questions to be asked in advance.

I think someone like Mike Wallace would have been great. I know its not exactly her type of thing, but Lara Logan would be great. She is no fan of the Bush regime and she is known for asking tough questions and getting into the face of those who she interviews.

I'm going to have to go with Babs..... I think she is rather sad most of the time but she does ask "tough" questions sometimes...

I would much rather have someone like Bill Moyers or Amy Goodman asking questions of all these hacks. So Bill Moyers he's on PBS. I'm so sick of these patsies fawning over these candidates.

Journalism has taken a HUGE downturn in the last decade. Robert Greenwald was on Maddow's radio show today and really broke down the details of what is going on. They said what I have been saying all along. Facts and truth are on the same level as lies and speculation for the MSM now. It's just insanity.

Not that I had much respect for Gibson before but he and Stephanopoulos really showed some pathetic behavior in that PA debate. It was probably one of the lowest points in televised election history.

Early on? The election is just 50+ days away. Why the hell would she speak with Andrea Mitchell or anyone else for that matter. She doesn't need to. Instead of EVERYONE bothering their little heads about the number 2 person on one ticket, I'd sure as hell like to hear some substance come out of the mouths of the number 1 guys on both tickets. Absolutely nothing being said by either one of them. And, what is said, is just useless. Nothing about how anyone is paying for anything, real plans, no dates for anything. Nothing! Zippo!

You are just not paying attention. Both addressed Fanny and Freddie yesterday and both addressed the Russia and Georgia. The media is fixated on a Palin and the "horse race." Today's story about Charlie Gibson. Obama could talk at length about non-proliferation treaties but it would fall on deaf ears and probably lose valuable time. People just don't care here.

I seriously don't understand what you are looking for. Clearly American citizens do not have the brain capacity to retain or for that matter comprehend the significance of much larger issues. Obama has tried very hard to make this a big picture election. It may be his biggest mistake but he has tried. But don't say these guys don't address the issues. BOTH DO.

I LOVE how Obama and Clinton answered tough long-term questions (like Iran) in the primaries. They just didn't. They are not in the position to suppose or assume things. They need assess the situations as they come and be right about them. They can tell you what you want to hear or tell you they don't want to make mistakes by making assumptions. How are they supposed to generate dates when they are not even in charge yet? Or can even tell what the house/senate will look like? It's pretty dubious if you ask me.

This trigger happy bomb-the-world, borrow money, tax break, drill here nonsense is all you will see on television, mostly what you will see from McCain and what Obama and the Democrats struggle with.

You say "real plans" like there are "real plans" in place currently or Obama is supposed to dream up a bailout plan for Fanny and Freddy that doesn't involve taxing people. You have all your answers, you know exactly where the money will come from. What's not being discussed about that particular issue (and one I will go round and round with Papa) is how Republicans SOCIALIZED our government. What has befallen this week is SOCIALISM. And right now a bailout is the only way either party sees fit to deal with it.

George Bush just gave Georgia a BILLION dollars.... where do you think that money came from?

What else will it be? Do you even know what a project plan is? Ya start with what? An OUTLINE. Project Management is a system that works this way. Barack Obama's Economic plan is spelled out for you on his website he explains how it is all paid for and guess what? Just as I told you before he received rave reviews all around concerning the plan.

But you are right it is plan and it is a plan that will take congressional support to put through. Hillary Clinton once had a healthcare plan and you saw where that went. Obama is only as strong as his message. He could just not have a plan, which seems to be McCain's philosophy that and hire criminals to run the economy. The entire democratic party is behind his platform and believe it is sound.

Plenty of reasons. But don't pretend you didn't understand the English that was spoken at the primary debates, only a handful of Democrats said bring them HOME NOW. None of which were Clinton, Biden nor Obama.

As I have said since day one, this is a popularity contest. I voted for whom I thought was the most likely to win in November for the Dems. He is who I will vote for to end this Bush regime. Once we have a Democratic control, I have nothing but hope things can at least start to return to the Clinton days.

What exactly are you looking for? I mean specifics. You can ask me again and again "how is he paying for this." What kind of ANSWER DO YOU WANT? Line by line? Pay for what exactly? His plan stretches well beyond the scope of 4 years. He also hasn't a CLUE what George Bush can do in the remaining months with our economy. Bush just gave away 1 BILLION dollars. I don't think Obama, McCain or Clinton predicted that... Oh wait McCain's advisors knew.

Should've been a woman, of course, but the McCain camp would loathe that, because Sarah's entire claim to fame is walking solo among the white male culture as a mother-virgin-whore all rolled into one, a gun-toting "maaahhm" as she describes herself, whom men would like to watch pee in the woods (a feat she can accomplish, quoted in her hometown) and then go after, Deliverence style. Foreign policy? That what she thinks about foreigners.
