Sounds lovely... the only time I've had afternoon tea (high tea at that) was at the Empress Hotel in Victoria, BC.

I'll be in DC at Xmas, I'll check it out.

Thanks for the advice guys! That seals it. I was def. leaning that way... but with approval from Addy and restaurant advice from PJ, I'm booking now. :)

I love Victoria, BC, SOMMS. I try to go about once a year... this is the first year I don't go at all. High tea at the Empress is a must while in town.

Addy, I get a feeling you would love Victoria.

DD, I have always wanted to travel to Victoria. Now it's being bumped higher on my list.

I'll throw in my vote for Victoria! A beautiful English town - which just happens to be on the west coast of North America.

Addy - go in the late spring - the gardens are magnificent!

Take the ferry from Vancouver! Tour the gardens in Victoria and then have high tea at the Empress. Finish with a short spending spree at LUSH. A faboulous day!!!!!

I've been to Banff and Lake Louise. But, not Victoria and Vancouver. Next trip...

Even better... come to Seattle... and from here we take the high-speed catamaran (2 hour trip) to Victoria. And a trip to Victoria isn't complete without a visit to Butchart Gardens.

My favorite time to visit Victoria is at Christmas time. You totally forget you're in North America.

Butchart is fabulous at the holidays. And downtown Victoria really is so Dickensonian year round.

I LOVE Butterfly gardens.

There is a beautiful one near my parent's place in Florida. (I HOPE it's still there...)
