Oh, now come ON...do you seriously think that I'd think Ms. Addy didnt' already have Friday plans booked three weeks in advance? I'm still trying to get an appointment for 2006 to see you! :)

Suzanne: I never use catalogs. I'd rather go in the store and see all the salespeople groveling and sucking up to you. Julia: Pardon me, I never knew they were so solicitous at the K-Mart.

The History of Pizza Pie
The first known pizza shop was the Port 'Alba in Naples, which opened in 1830 and is still open today. The first pizzeria in North America was opened in 1905 by Gennaro Lombardi at 53 1/3 Spring Street in New York City.

And, if memory serves, the first pizza served in Naples was the Margherita.

Package Saver (for pizza & cake)
Have you ever wondered, "Who invented the circular thing that keeps the pizza from hitting the inside of the box top?" Well wonder no longer the package saver for pizza and cakes was invented by Carmela Vitale of Dix Hills, NY, who filed for US patent #4,498,586 on February 10, 1983, issued on February 12, 1985. Special thanks to Howard Olivier, owner of the Flying Pie Pizzaria in Boise, Idaho, for sending us the right answer.

Pizza Hut
The first "Pizza Hut" pizza restaurant appeared in the United States during the 1930s.

The History of Pizza
Considered a peasant's meal in Italy for centuries, modern pizza is attributed to baker Raffaele Esposito of Napoli (Naples) in the Italian region of Campania. In 1889, Esposito of Pizzeria di Pietro (now called Pizzeria Brandi) baked pizza especially for the visit of Italian King Umberto I and Queen Margherita.

Most sources, however, agree that an early form of pizza resembling what today is called focaccia was eaten by many peoples around the Mediterranean rim, e.g., by Greeks, Egyptians etc.

Her hatred of sushi is her only flaw.

Not even silly sushi like Tempura rolls? (Actually, I love those...)

I think I've just decided I'm going to have sushi.

Or a salad.
