Loved her as Ellen James in "The World According to Garp", and in "So I Married An Axe Murderer."

I see on IMDB that she is working, but has she played any memorable characters lately in your opinion?

I loved her in AGNES OF GOD and in an ill-conceived revival of THE GLASS MENAGERIE with Jessica Tandy.

What's her mother up to these days?

Amanda was just in a little movie called MY LIFE WITHOUT ME with Sarah Polley and Scott Speedman. It was a very upsetting film about a woman (Polley) who finds out she's dying and wants to tie up all loose ends in her life.

Tammy Grimes is her mum, right?

"Agnes of God", I saw that on Broadway. Thanks for the memory Dollypop. Elizabeth Ashley, Amanda Plummer and Estelle Parsons, if I remember correctly. I liked that play.

Matt: "My Life Without Me" sounds very sad indeed. re: Where's Amanda Plummer?

It really was. It was too unsettling for me when I first saw it so I wasn't really sure what I thought of it. It was only looking back that I saw how much I really liked it. It also had Miss Blondie herself and Mark Ruffalo.

I don't think Estelle Parsons ever did AGNES on Bwy. I believe the Mother superior was Geraldine Page.

My kind of actress, oh yes oh yes.
Wasn't there some kind of to-do over her either quitting or getting fired from BUG before it opened?

I remember seeing her and Tess Harper (whatever happened to her) in Beth Henley's play "Abundance".

From Tess Harper's IMDB listing:

Loggerheads (2004) (post-production) .... Elizabeth
Jesus, Mary and Joey (2003) .... Liz O'Callahan
Lonely Place (2003)
Studio City (2003) .... Linda Little

Looks like she's been plenty busy to me.

It's not recent but Amanda Plummer's most memorable role, for me, was in the movie of Butterfly Kiss. A very intense performance.

She's been staying at my place. She loves Everwood as much as I do, so we always watch it together with a big bowl of Monday Night Chex Mix. It's been fun, but I'm tired of her bringing Boston Market home for dinner all the time and using up all my contact lens solution. She's really sweet, but I'm going to have to tell her to leave. But not until after she takes me to mini-golf tomorrow. I haven't played in YEARS.

An evil minded friend of mine who hated her always used to say her middle name was She'sABitOfA.

She dropped out of "Bug" just one day before previews were to begin for unspecified reasons, leading them to have to fly in Shannon Cochran at the last second and delay performances for a few days so Cochran could get up to speed (it all obviously turned out fine in the end with Cochran and the rest of the cast receving the Obie for best ensemble). Not sure what made her resign so abruptly (did the extensive nudity bother her?) and I don't have any idea what she's been up to since.

She's always been a bit "out there" but she was wonderful along side Geraldine Page and Elizabeth Ashley in "Agnes of God" (and was OK in that oddly disjointed "Glass Menagerie" revival with Jessica Tandy, John Heard and Bruce Davidson, who made for a pretty decent Tom as I recall).
