I'm in Chicago for the SHRM conference, and tonight is my last night here. I was wondering if anyone has any food suggestions I should try? I would really love to order in (I'm exhausted), but am in the Streeterville area and could venture out for something. Thanks!

Was just in Chicago last month on vacation. It's a fantastic city! There's so much to choose from.......steak houses, pizza places, Italian, etc. Does your hotel have a nice dining room? Are you near The John Hancock building? There's a Cheesecake Factory there, and you can't go wrong with any of their food.

I think that's a bit of a walk. But I DO love Cheesecake Factory.

I work in Streeterville. Are you looking for a particular cuisine?

Streeterville? I can tell you all about it. My favorite Italian restaurant is the Coco Pazzo Cafe at the corner of Ontario and St. Clair: http://www.cocopazzocafe.com/

If you like Indian food, Indian Garden at the corner of Erie and Fairbanks is excellent (the Gobhi Gulistan and Maharashtrian-Style Farsi Bhaji are among my favorites): http://www.indiangardenchicago.com/

For traditional Chicago pizza, there is a Gino's East on Superior just east of Michigan: http://www.ginoseast.com/

If you like Middle Eastern, Sayat Nova is great Armenian food on Ohio, just east of Michigan: http://www.sayatnovachicago.com/

And finally, if you like a little Chinese fusion, you should definitely try Republic at Ontario, west of Michigan, next to Lawry's: http://www.republicrestaurant.us/

For a great burger, Boston Blackies on Grand and St. Clair.

For great Thai, Dao on Ohio near St. Clair...

Well Italian is my favorite, does the Coco Pazzo Cafe do takeout or delivery? I also really like Thai food...

I've never been to Coco Pazzo but Dao does deliver.

I don't know how expensive it is, but on Top Chef they did an episode at Tramanto's, a steakhouse that sounded very tasty.

Taste of Chicago! (I don't know when it starts offically, but I'm going Friday!)

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I? I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.

Isn't Taste always the week before the Fourth of July?

Dao is good cheap Thai. I'm not a fan of Blackie's, however. I have found it to be very overrated, especially considering the service is usually at a crawl. I prefer Weber Grill at Grand and State. For quick Italian sandwiches, pizza and salads, Pompeii at Ohio and St. Clair is great.

Lots of places deliver from: https://www.diningin.com/defaultmain.aspx

Tramanto's is pretty far outside the city in the suburbs.

Taste of Chicago is 6/27-7/6.

I love Wildfire, though it's a bit west of Streeterville. My favorite fine dinner is the RL Cafe. I thought it would be some cheesy overpriced chain or something, but boy, was I surprised. Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Chicago by a mile. Everything I've had is exquisite and the atmosphere and service are divine. It's like a small Manhattan supper club. The venison chops during the Fall are divine.

Ohh, what was that place I went to where the menu turned into risotto, they had special forks that injected flavors into your mouth while you ate and served doughnut soup for dessert? (it was this hot liquid that tasted like a glazed doughnut). It was like Willy Wonka for adults.

Moto I think?

I've never heard of that, Calvin. It sounds interesting, to say the least. Here is the website for Moto: http://www.motorestaurant.com/flash/index.html

It was quite interesting.

One course was corn chowder -- except right before serving it, they dipped popcorn in liquid nitrogen and then dumped the instantly frozen popcorn into the soup, which made it kinda explode in your mouth while you ate it.

It was kinda pricey, but certainly an experience to remember, and the food was quite good overall.
