I'm going to see "UP" tonight, which some reviewers have called the best Pixar movie so far and others called "not as good as [insert Pixar movie here]." So, which one was your favorite?
Mine's definitely Finding Nemo. When I was in sixth grade, I think I had the entire film memorized, and I still managed to laugh throughout the movie when I watched it last week. And of course, Ellen DeGeneres was brilliant.
I haven't seen UP yet, but my fav two are DEF Ratatouille and Wall-e

WALL-E by far.
Toy Story or Finding Nemo.

I haven't seen UP yet. Me and my friends are going to see it soon, but I'm going to have to say it's a tie between WALL-E and Finding Nemo.

While I think that Toy Story and Nemo are excellent classics, I've never been blown away by a cartoon like UP. I went to see it a couple days ago and I just can't remember a movie like that that made me feel so many different things through an hour and forty-five minutes.
This movie could be laugh-out-loud hilarious and the next second serious and dramatic and you'd be crying your eyes out. I'm not giving away any spoilers but the whole "Marriage" monatage was funny, then it was sad, then it was happy and funny again, and then it was terribly depressing and I cried! I cried so much! And when Carl kept remembering his wife, and it could have been right after a funny joke, you'd get choked up.
And the end, the final shot had me in my seat bawling like a baby. The music, masterfully scored by Michael Giacchino, is what brought it to another level. The simple motif of a G major chord shifting hypnotically to a B minor was amazingly effective and so simple at the same time. And the melody (to quote Drowsy Chaperone) simply floated in the air.
I think all of Pixar's films are pretty brilliant, but nothing will really match Toy Story for me.
I vote for Up. I have loved all the others, but this new one is my favorite. I cried (multiple times), laughed, and just loved every second.
Monsters Inc.

My thoughts exactly. I was the perfect age when Toy Story came out, and it was one of the most awesome things I had ever seen at that point. I still love, love, love that movie. UP! is probably in second place.
In order:
TOY STORY
FINDING NEMO
WALL-E
MONSTERS, INC.
UP
RATATOUILLE
TOY STORY 2
THE INCREDIBLES
A BUG'S LIFE
CARS
TOY STORY all the way! I'm not a big fan of this type of animation, but TOY STORY, IMO, is the best of the bunch. I've also enjoyed TOY STORY 2, A BUG'S LIFE, and RATATOUILLE. The rest not so much or at all.
I enjoy them all. There hasn't been one that I've disliked. I mean, really, look at their filmography...
Toy Story
A Bug's Life
Toy Story 2
Monster's Inc.
Finding Nemo
The Incredibles
Cars
Ratatouille
Wall-E
Up
4 of those films have won the Academy Award for Animated Feature Film (about to be 5, when Up wins). At least two more would have won had the category existed when they were released. One of them won the Golden Globe for Musical/Comedy Feature Film, and every single one has been a box office success.
It's truly a remarkable track record.
There is one that I hate and cannot stand. CARS. It's trash.
I agree about Cars. Complete garbage.
Toy Story is the best. Cars is the worst.
I love all of them, but could agree with Up being the best.
I unfortunately haven't seen UP yet, but I absolutely loved RATATOUILLE. I just love it- it's not only quite funny, but I found it pretty moving as well.
Hm. My favorite is definitely Nemo! I absolutely loved it! (still do!) Toy Story was a childhood classic. Although the second one somehow ruined the charm of the first with me. I am in the minority with WALL-E. It was good, but definitely not my favorite.
Up was quite good as well.

I have enjoyed all of them on different levels for different reasons. Watching the development of their films has been fascinating, especially as they challenge themselves with more difficult animation tricks, and bring greater depth to the storylines.
Another great product is their collection of shorts realeased on DVD.
Yes--the shorts have all been terrific, as well. Not a dud to Pixar's name.

When they're good, they're the best out there. When they suck, they suck really bad: I'll never forget or forgive the unspeakable CARS, among the lowpoints of the decade. Can we all just pretend CARS never happened? It is really easy, I promise you.

Cars may have been Pixar's worst film but I'd gladly watch it over ANY of that crap DreamWorks churns out.
