Isn't it true that the police raid a different gay bar the Friday before the Pride Parade every year? To do so right after the vote passed is sickening. Besides, shouldn't they be raiding the redneck bars every year instead? Do they raid Puerto Rician bars before their parade?

In reading the article it appears that they raided several bars and the Eagle was the only gay one. I think it is a matter of unfortunate timing. Also, if you are going to bust people with drugs, it is going to be on a Pride weekend. I don't want people with drugs in gay bars, so I am fine with that. People who have nothing to hide aren't offended.

If we gays want equal rights, it cuts both ways. The straight bars were as equally inconvenienced and lost money too. Lets not get myopic or paranoid.

While I am inclined to agree on the timing issue, I think that quote is a very slippery slope when the law requires probable cause.

It was Raided because authorities heard rumors tHat Jordan's and Dollypops engagement party was going to be held there!
